Thomas Schmauser

Thomas Schmauser was born in 1972 in Burgebrach and studied drama at the Otto Falckenberg school in Munich from 1992 to 1996. Since 1994, he has made regular film and television appearances such as Nach fünf im Urwald (It’s a Jungle Out There – directed by Hans-Christian Schmid) and Undertakers Paradise (directed by Mathias X. Oberg). From 1997 until 2000, Thomas was employed at Schauspielhaus Hannover and then joined the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. He was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele from 2007 until 2017 and performed in plays such as Gesäubert/Gier/4.48 Psychose (Cleansed/Crave/4.48 Psychosis – directed by Johan Simons). Furthermore, Thomas gained his first directing experience in 2012 with Du mein Tod (You, My Death), which earned him an invitation to the Berliner Autorentheatertagen the following year. Thomas has once again been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele since 2019.
