Rania Mleihi

Rania Mleihi is a dramaturge, director, author, and performer. Born and raised in Damascus, she worked at the National Theater there, founded her own ensemble, and was invited to perform at the Edinburgh Festival, among other venues. She has been living in Germany since 2015 and has worked as a dramaturge at the Munich Kammerspiele, the State Theater in Hanover, and the Theater an der Ruhr. She co-founded the Open Border Ensemble, initiated the projects “Habibi Kiosk” and “Sisterhood Damascus” at the Munich Kammerspiele, and the talk show series “Arabesque” at the Staatstheater Hannover.

Since the 2025/26 season, she has been dramaturge and artistic director of the “Yalla Yalla” encounter format at the Staatstheater Nürnberg under artistic director Lene Grösch. Rania Mleihi lives in Munich.
