Research by Ayşe Güvendiren
With her devised play, director Ayşe Güvendiren examines the legend of a duel in order to transfer it to contemporary conflict zones. Who makes decides that a hero is a hero and an immortal? Is it a nation? How is this hero remembered and how quickly do they become a traitor? Whose memories are official and whose are null and void? Güvendiren embarks on forays into the vast cultural and political terrains of Turkey and Germany which have been created by this myth of two unequal opponents.

“Was der Abend sehr bewegend vermittelt, ist das tragisch kurze Leben eines Teenagers, der mitten in Deutschland schuldlos auf offener Straße erschossen wurde.”
