From the Berlin living room music scene of the 90s to the award-winning theater productions with Rimini-Protokoll of recent years: Barbara Morgenstern always follows her inner voice in her unbroken belief in the magic of music. With a new album and accompanied by a large ensemble, one of Germany’s most independent musicians is back on tour: “In anderem Licht” is chamber pop and tells of a possible liberation from a state of general paralysis. Also on stage: the rising star in the Munich firmament, MALVA. Her record company has jokingly tried to forbid the early twenty-something from aging. But her music, a mixture of chanson and indie pop, is far too subtle and clever for that. Nobody stands still these days!
