The internationally awarded Nuri Harun Ateş comes to us at Habibi Kiosk. With his unique vocals and operatic musical style, the singer takes us on a multilingual musical journey.
Biography
Nuri Harun Ateş was born in Izmir in 1980. After graduating from high school, he first studied opera singing at the “9 Eylül” State Conservatory, which he then continued at the “Mimar Sinan”, the Istanbul State Conservatory and the “Schola Cantorum Basiliensis” in Switzerland, where he was accepted as a scholarship holder. In 2003, Ateş won the Performance Prize at the Zurich International Theatre Festival and in 2007 again the Special Jury Prize at the “Siemens Opera Contest”. While he has performed at numerous theatre and music festivals across Europe, he also released his first album “Kafası Karışık Kontrtenor” in 2015. In 2018, his first duet “Geçmişe Susmasını Söyle” with Sezen Aksu was also released. Today, Ateş continues his musical life mostly in Istanbul.
