Zahava Rodrigo, born in Bremen in 1984, designs stage sets and costumes for productions in music, dance and spoken theatre, and works with directors including Leonie Böhm, Benjamin van Bebber, Felix Meyer-Christian and the Costa Compagnie at municipal theatres and independent production companies. In recent years, her projects have taken her to venues including Kampnagel Hamburg, Theater Bremen, the Munich Biennale, the Volksbühne Berlin, the Maxim Gorki Theatre, the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Ballhaus Ost in Berlin and the Schauspielhaus Zürich. The production ‘Medea*’, directed by Leonie Böhm, was invited to the Theatertreffen in 2021. In addition, she has conceived installation-based works for exhibitions at the Cuxhaven Kunstverein, the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn, the Städtische Galerie in Wolfsburg and the Ruhrtriennale. In 2019, with the performance *MANGO SHOP*, she also created her first work as director at the Ballhaus Ost, funded by the Berlin Senate. For this, she worked with the media she is familiar with and placed a clear focus on a visual narrative form within an installation-based setting. Zahava lives in Berlin.
