Julia Riedler
Julia Riedler was born in Salzburg. She studied at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and was hired by the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg during her final year of study. She then became a member of the ensemble at Schauspiel Köln and, from 2015 to 2020, at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Since then, she has been working as a freelancer at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Burgtheater, and Volkstheater Wien, among others.
In the summer of 2024, she made her debut in Nicolas Stemann’s production of ORESTIE at the Salzburg Festival. Julia Riedler has received numerous awards, including the Boy-Gobert Young Talent Award for outstanding acting achievements in 2013, the Munich Kammerspiele Association’s Sponsorship Award in 2015, the AZ Star of the Year for Best Actress in 2016, and the Bavarian Art Sponsorship Award in 2017. In 2021, she was nominated for the Nestroy Theater Prize for best supporting role. For her performance in FRÄULEIN ELSE (director: Leonie Böhm) at the Volkstheater Wien, she was named Actress of the Year 2025 by the trade magazine “Theater heute” and received the Nestroy Prize in the category “Best Actress.” She also works as a radio play narrator and has appeared in various film and television productions, such as TATORT FRANKFURT and the French feature film CONANN, which premiered in Cannes in 2023.
