Rasha Nahas

Rasha Nahas is a Palestinian singer, composer, actress and multi-instrumentalist with a sound that is as distinctive as it is genre-defying. Rooted in classical guitar training and shaped by the Palestinian underground scene in Haifa, her music blends the raw energy of electric rock with the lyricism of folk, poetry and (trans-)traditional influences. Her debut album Desert (2021) reflected her migration to Berlin, whilst her groundbreaking follow-up Amrat (2023) explored the tension between urban life and rural memory across two chapters. Released on the British label Cooking Vinyl, Amrat brought together leading voices from the Palestinian indie scene and catapulted Nahas onto international stages – from Glastonbury to WOMEX, from the Berlinale to world tours across South America, North Africa, Europe, the USA and West Asia. Looking ahead, Nahas is on the verge of releasing her most ambitious work to date – a new album, produced by the legendary Meshell Ndegeocello, due out in 2026. Alongside her multilingual albums, she composes for film, TV series, theatre and dance, thereby expanding her creative impact and reach.
