Athena Lange

Athena Lange is an actress and writer. She completed her acting training at the Leipzig Drama School. Among other roles, she was a permanent member of the “Leipziger Ensemble” until 2016, performed for the “German Deaf Theater” and “Possible World Berlin,” and appeared in “Bilder deiner großen Liebe” at the Societätstheater in Dresden.

Athena lost her hearing at the age of 20. She is fluent in German Sign Language and identifies as a bilingual artist.

At Schauspiel Leipzig, she collaborated with author Raphaela Bardutzky on the multilingual production “Altbau in zentraler Lage,” in which she also performed.

She lives in Berlin.

In the 2026/27 season, Athena will appear in “heaven will come.” The play’s text by Thomas Köck is being developed in (artistic) collaboration with Athena.
