Dolores Catherino

Dolores Catherino is a PolyChromatic composer and independent researcher who develops integrated pitch and timbre tuning systems with more than 100 tones per octave. In her work, she explores the structure of high-resolution pitch spaces, incorporating perceptual thresholds, microintervals, harmonic relationships, and the limits of auditory perception. She explores associative synesthesia as a cross-modal system of pattern recognition and develops polychromatic humanism as a post-AI philosophical framework that connects creativity, perception, and complex systems. Through compositions and open-framework concepts, she investigates hidden structures of hearing in her work, thereby expanding the possibilities of how sound can be organized, perceived, and understood.
