Nofar Sela

Nofar Sela is a theater and performance artist based in Jerusalem whose work explores social and political themes from a personal perspective. Her practice is rooted in the exploration of experimental and immersive theater formats, with the body serving as a central means of expression. Sela creates intimate, immediate encounters with the audience and often invites them to actively participate in and help shape the course of the performance.

Her performances have been presented extensively in Israel and internationally, including at the Theatertreffen (Berlin), the Münchner Kammerspiele (Munich), the Westflügel Theater (Leipzig), International Exposure to Israeli Theatre, the Tmuna Theater (Tel Aviv), and the International Puppet Theatre Festival (Jerusalem).

Sela is a graduate of the Goethe-Institut’s international program for theater makers and the Kaleidoscope program for children’s theater at the Train Theater in Jerusalem.

She holds a B.F.A. with honors from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem and studied at the School of Visual Theatre.

Since 2014, she has worked as a dramaturg and artistic consultant with a wide range of artists and groups across various disciplines, from dance and visual arts to contemporary circus. She serves as a mentor in development labs and as a member of the repertoire committee at the Train Theatre.
