Franziska Hartmann
Franziska Hartmann, born in 1984 near Munich, studied acting at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater in Leipzig. Even while studying, she performed at several theaters before becoming a permanent ensemble member at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg in 2009. There she has appeared in numerous productions, including “Panikherz”, “Asche”, and “Das Achte Leben”. She has worked with directors such as Antú Romero Nunes, Jette Steckel, and Christopher Rüping.
Since 2018, Franziska Hartmann has enjoyed great success as a freelance actress in film and television. Among other roles, she appeared in Jan Bonny’s drama “Über Barbarossaplatz”, for which she was awarded the Special Prize for Outstanding Acting Performance by the German Academy of Performing Arts. In the same year, she received the German Audiobook Prize. For her performance in the feature film “Sterne über uns” by Tina Ebelt, she was honored in 2020 with the German Television Academy Award in the category of Lead Actress, among others. In 2023, she continued this successful collaboration with the feature film “Monster im Kopf”. The film screened at numerous festivals and won various nominations, prizes, and awards. In 2023, she won the Grimme Prize in the fiction category for the miniseries “Neuland”. Most recently, she appeared in Stephan Lacant’s multi-award-winning film Kalt, in the Polizeiruf episode “Du gehörst mir” directed by Jens Wischnewski, and in her own ZDF series Katharina Tempel. In 2024, Franziska Hartmann was honored with the German Acting Award in the category of Leading Dramatic Role for Monster im Kopf for her outstanding performance.
