Dustin Klein

Dustin Klein was born in Landsberg am Lech in 1986 and studied at the Royal Ballet School in London from 2003 to 2006. After beginning his professional career at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, he moved to the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich, where he was a soloist until 2021. Since 2012, he has been choreographing his own works for dance and opera companies, including the Bavarian State Ballet, the Bavarian State Opera, the Stanislavsky Music Theatre Moscow, the Hamburg State Opera, the JK Tjl Theatre Pilsen, the Oldenburg State Theatre, Theater Münster, Dallas Opera, Opera de Dijon, Salzburg Festival, Origen Festival Cultural, Glyndebourne Festival and the Paris Opera. He has been awarded the Bundes-Jugendballett Hamburg Production Award, at the 33rd International Choreography Competition in Hanover, the Audience Award at the 34th Bavarian Theatre Days in Regensburg and both the Ellinor Holland Art Prize and the Culture Promotion Prize of the City of Landsberg am Lech. His working style is based on regular collaboration with composers, graphic designers, filmmakers, computer animators, writers, actors and costume designers.
