Reiwas
Reiwas stands for new folk music and Bavarian dialect folk with plenty of room for voices and instruments. Their songs tell stories that suddenly grab you. Josef Steinbacher and Katrin Auer met at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where their musical paths crossed.
With Reiwas, they are at home on a wide variety of stages: on large concert stages such as the Deutsches Theater Munich or the Amerang Castle Concerts, as well as on small art stages. In addition, the band can be heard regularly at festivals such as the Hohenloher Kultursommer, the Walchensee Open Air, and the Brass Wiesn.
For their engagement at the Munich Kammerspiele, Reiwas is returning to its roots in Alpine folk music.
Together with harpist Veronika Schoosleitner, they form a chamber music trio. Sisters Veronika and Katrin grew up with folk music and have been immersed in it since childhood in their parents’ home. In addition to her work at the Munich Kammerspiele, Veronika Schoosleitner is active in numerous formations, such as the Alpenlandler Musikanten, Blusnknepf, and Elstätzinger Musikanten.
