Anna Irmgard Jäger

Anna Irmgard Jäger, Greek/German artist and author, born on October 26, 1987, in Bremen. Raised in Athens. She received her initial training as a physical and movement therapist in Athens. At the age of 22, she moved back to Bremen. There she studied dance and theater education and in 2016 received the Germany Scholarship for talented and high-achieving students. She now works both on stage and behind the scenes. At Theater Bremen, she is a performer in Birgit Freitag’s production “Für 4” (For 4), which won the German theater award “Der Faust.” With Luisa Eugeni’s artist collective “sine umbra,” Anna Jäger has performed at venues including the Kunsthalle Bremen and the Venice Biennale. Her most recent film appearances were in Björn Beton’s (Fettes Brot) film noir short film and in Hannes Rademacher’s “Szene Report” on ARD. She regularly gives creative workshops (creative writing, theater, and dance) and has been working as a creative therapist in psychiatry since 2024. She began writing as a child to teach herself German. Her debut novel is titled “Ganz normale Tage – Geschichten von Träumen und Traumata” (Marta Press Verlag 2023). In 2024, her first children’s book about her son with autism, “Was sieht Paul?” (What Does Paul See?) was published (Marta Press Verlag). Illustrated by Florian Bosum aka Flo Mega. Since 2023, Anna Jäger has been touring Germany, Greece, and Switzerland with her books. She is currently working with a Greek publisher on the translation of “Ganz normale Tage” from German into Greek. Most recently, she hosted a reading by Reyhan Şahin, aka Lady Bitch Ray.
