Pauline Heitmann
Pauline Heitmann is a set and costume designer. She studied theatre studies in Leipzig and set and costume design in Berlin and London. Since the 2025/26 season, she has been working as an assistant costume designer at the Münchner Kammerspiele, where her costume designs are currently also on display in the productions “Balance and Harmony” (directed by Lamin Leroy Gibba, text by Lennart Kos), ‘Das Ereignis’ (directed by Necati Öziri) and ‘Oft wollte ich weglaufen, nie habe ich es getan’ (directed by Sapir Heller).
Her creative practice navigates between everyday surfaces, baroque niches and representations of modern forms of discipline as bodily practice within the multimedia contexts of drama, musical theatre and performance.
Her own works have been staged, amongst others, at the Theaterdiscounter Berlin (‘The Women of Nagyrév’, directed by Christina Polzer), as part of the Bayreuth Festival (‘Tannhäuser for Children’, directed by Nada Zimmermann), at the August Everding Theatre Academy (‘Kaspar’, directed by Yunus Wieacker), at Halle 6 in Munich (‘New Social Drama: Art’, directed by prog.dep.89) and at Podewil Berlin (‘I need a hero’, directed by Camilla Pölzer, winner of the Vera Gerdau Prize for inclusive theatre for children and young people).
