Mare Kraus

Mare Kraus (er/ihm) is an interdisciplinary artist, performer and sex worker from Cologne. In addition to working in the theater, Mare works in the independent scene. Mare is co-founder of the theater collective FAUL&HÄSSLICH, active in the “Sexworkers of Cologne” collective, a young and committed association of sex workers and activists from Cologne and, together with the Queer Lapdance Collective, develops resistant, sweaty stage shows that deal with topics such as consent and queer desire. A central theme for him is the connection between performative work and sex work. To this end, he is constantly working on the body, gender and sexuality as forms of expression in order to question basic assumptions, counter the reproduction of the eternal same with new forms and collectively shake up hierarchical factories.
