Soumayya Gad Alla

Soumayya Gad Alla (she/her) has been dancing since early childhood. She grew up with oriental dance and trained ballet as well as Standard ballroom and Latin dances for many years before finding her way into the street dance scene around the age of 17. In 2019, she began dancing Waacking and became an active part of the community in 2020. Today she is an organiser, judge and trophy winning dancer. Her hands create and hold space for teaching and cherishing empowering traditions of self expression and communal growing. Within her rich repertoire of movement languages she identifies most with Punking – the emotional and expressive facet of Waacking, which resonates deeply with her artistic identity.
