Prof. Christiane Plank-Baldauf

Dr. Christiane Plank-Baldauf has worked as a music dramaturg at various theaters in Switzerland and Austria, most recently at the National Theater and Junger Oper Mannheim. Since then, she has been working as a freelance guest dramaturg in the fields of music theater and concerts. She teaches as a private lecturer (with venia legendi in the Department of Theater Studies) at the August Everding Theater Academy (Dramaturgy program) and at the Institute for Theater Studies at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. She also holds teaching positions at the Mozarteum in Innsbruck, the University of Bayreuth, the Institute for Music and Musicology at the University of Hildesheim, and the University of the Arts Vienna. Research and publications focus on music theater for young audiences, music education and participation, the performativity of listening, and the history and aesthetics of (music) theater. Since October 2022, she has led the DFG-funded research project “Music Theater for Young Audiences—A School of Perception?”
