Shalva Nikashvili

Shalva Nikvashvili (b. 1990, Georgia) lives and works in Germany. Trained in sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, he moves fluidly between performance, fashion, and visual art. His practice interrogates identity through transformation, portraiture, and theatrical excess.

As a costume designer, Nikvashvili has collaborated with Zurich Opera, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Hannover Staatsoper, Bavarian State Opera, Thalia Theater, and Vienna’s Burgtheater — blurring the boundaries between body and fiction, ritual and spectacle.
