Jana Baldovino

Jana Baldovino (1999, Manila, Philippines) is a dancer and performer who began her training in New Zealand before continuing at Alegria Fulltime Ballet School in Sydney. She graduated from the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. Her professional career includes performing in the original cast of Matthew Bourne’s Romeo and Juliet (2019 UK tour) and joining the ballet ensemble at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in 2020.

Jana has worked with renowned choreographers such as Fernando Melo, Ina Christel Johannessen, Frédérick Gravel, Marco Da Silva Ferreira, Cocoon Dance, and Roy Assaf amongst many others.

Her artistic practice extends beyond traditional dance; she explores diverse performative methods and contexts. Highlights of her work include Joan Jonas’ Mirror Piece I & II: Reconfigured at Haus der Kunst Munich, Plantage Dachau, a performative tour by Caroline Kapp, and participating as a choreographic collaborator for Grelle Tage with Kapp at Schauspielhaus Bochum.

She will join Theater Freiburg for starting September 2025 under the direction of Felix Rothenhäusler.
