Dr. Ofra Rechter

Dr Ofra Rechter is one of Channa Maron’s three children. She is a senior faculty member at the Department of Philosophy at Tel Aviv University. Professor Rechter wrote her dissertation on Kant’s philosophy of arithmetic at Harvard and Columbia University. Rechter is the author of numerous articles and co-editor of an anthology on Kant’s philosophy of mathematics; the first volume was honoured with the Outstanding Academic Title Award in 2020. Ofra Rechter is a long-standing active member of Standing Together, a progressive grassroots movement that mobilizes Jewish and Palestinian Israelis for peace, equality and social justice. Rechter’s path follows the remarkable legacy of her German-born mother Channa Maron.
