Matthias Laufhütte

Matthias Laufhütte is a medievalist, doctoral candidate and research assistant at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In addition to his specialist work on the literature and language of the Middle Ages, he is also interested in representing the enthusiasm and topicality of these narrative materials outside the specialist audience and opening up the fun of the long-forgotten narrative style on stage to a wider public. This concern and the vitality of the Middle Ages are clearly visible on his skin in the form of numerous tattoos of motifs from the most magnificent manuscript of the German-speaking Middle Ages, the Codex Manesse.
In his dissertation, he devotes himself to the study of female parts of speech and the tradition of the female figure in late medieval poetry, as well as in later minnesong and the fading song poetry and its continuation in the Meisterliches Lied.
