Klara Mand

Klara Mand, born in 1992 in Kassel, lives in Berlin and is a freelance scenographer for theater, performance and dance. In her work, she explores space as a place where bodies, structures, material and light meet.

She studied stage and costume design with Barbara Ehnes, Kattrin Michel and Stefanie Wenner at the Dresden University of Fine Arts and continued her research into performative spaces in the Transdisciplinary Studies Master’s program at the Zurich University of the Arts.

In addition to a teaching position in the Bachelor of Scenic Space at the ZHdK, she worked with directors and choreographers such as Declan Whitaker, Ariel Ashbel, Jörg Pohl, as well as with her collective u n, among others at Theater Basel, Roxy Birsfelden, Tanzhaus Zürich, HAU Berlin, Uferstudius Berlin, FFT Düsseldorf and at Steirischer Herbst in Graz.
