Lara Roßwag

Lara Roßwag works as a stage and costume designer. She studied at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee and graduated in 2022 as a master student of Prof Stefan Hageneier. During her studies, she was awarded a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation. During her studies, she was awarded a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation and has already designed her first works for film and theatre.

She has worked at renowned theatres such as the Thalia Theater, Schauspielhaus Graz, Berliner Ensemble, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Staatstheater Hannover and Münchner Kammerspiele – where she collaborates with directors Emre Akal, Tina Lanik and Max Lindemann. In the Theater Heute critics’ survey, she was named in the category Costume Designer of the Year 2024.

She is also a costume and set designer in film, where she received the Bild-Kunst Special Award for Best Costume Design in 2019. She has a long-standing collaboration with director Jannis Alexander Kiefer, as well as international festival premieres and the 2020 German Film Award for a joint short film. In 2025, her current film costume design for “Another German Tank Story” will celebrate its cinema premiere.

After her employment as an artistic assistant at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee until 2024, she will continue to teach in the stage and costume design programme.
