Franca Luisa Burandt

Franca Luisa Burandt (she/any pronouns), born and raised in Bremen, develops theater formats and performances in various collectives. She works transdisciplinary as a physical actress, dancer, choreographer, dramaturge and author. In her work, she deals with the performative-choreographic and linguistic visualization and audibility of queerfeminist utopias.
Together with her sister Carolina Burandt as BÜRO BURANDT, she created the immersive radio play performance Salon der Langsamzeit at Hamburg’s Kraftwerk Bille in 2021, and with the choreographer and dancer Kattalin Mitxelena Newiger she created and performed several dance pieces at K3 - Center for Choreography at Kampnagel Hamburg, among others.
She has also worked closely with the director Rosa Rieck, with Constanze Nogueira Negwer and Elli Neubert at the Salzburg Festival, among others, with the dancer and choreographer Felipe Fizkal (Potsdamer Tanztage 2023), with the sound artist Fred Hellmann and with the inclusive Klabauter Theater Hamburg.

She is currently working with the music performance collective DOLCE DIVA / (UN)KILL THE PUTAS (in co-dramaturgy with Amelie Lopper, director Carolina de Araújo Cesconetto, musician Dong Zhou and performer Katalina Götz) on visualizing and raising awareness of violence against FLINTA* and femicide.
In 2022, Omnino Verlag published “Zuhause bin ich selbst - Ein Mutter-Tochter-Lesebuch auf Reisen” in co-authorship with Martina Burandt.
Franca Burandt specialized with a Master in Performance Studies at the University of Hamburg (D) after her Physical Theater studies at the renowned Accademia Teatro Dimitri (CH). She is currently expanding her practice with Feldenkrais training. She lives in Berlin.
