Linda Pöppel

Linda Pöppel was born in Berlin. After spending two years as a member of the P14 youth theater group at the Volksbühne Berlin, she studied acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Bochum from 2007 to 2011. From 2010 to 2013, she was a permanent ensemble member at the Centraltheater Leipzig, from 2013 to 2016 at Schauspiel Frankfurt, and from 2016 to 2023 at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. During this time, she worked with Jette Steckel, Robert Borgmann, Ersan Mondtag, René Pollesch, and Ulrich Rasche, among others, and maintained close professional ties with Jürgen Kruse and Sebastian Hartmann. For her portrayal of Maria in Hartmann’s “In Stanniolpapier,” she was nominated multiple times as Actress of the Year in the “Theater heute” critics’ poll. In 2024, she received the Grimme Prize for her performance in the film “Tamara.” Most recently, she has made guest appearances at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Schauspiel Frankfurt, and the Slowacki Theater in Krakow. She is currently appearing in Jette Steckel’s productions of “Mephisto” and “Meiser and Margarita.”
