Anna Laner

Born in Upper Austria, studied theater, film and media studies in Paris and Vienna. After graduating, she worked as an assistant director and production dramaturg at Kampnagel Hamburg, HAU Berlin, Theater Lübeck and Garage X Vienna, among others. In 2015, she worked with Christine Eder on the text for the “Nestroy Prize” winning production “Proletenpassion 2015ff”. From 2015-2019 she worked as a dramaturge at the Schauspielhaus Wien. Since 2019 she has been working as a freelance director and dramaturge in collaboration with Thomas Köck, Matthias Köhler & Blanka Rádóczy, among others. In 2019, together with Elke Auer and Eva Jantschitsch, she conceived the choral vigil “OPUS MALEFICARUM”, which was awarded the Vienna Independent Scene Prize. She has staged productions at Theater Drachengasse, Landestheater Marburg, Kosmos Theater Vienna and Schauspiel Stuttgart (in co-production with Teatro UNAM Mexico City), among others. 2020-2024 she co-curated the season program at Kosmos Theater Vienna.
She also works as a lecturer, including at the Institute for Language Arts at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
She is part of the dramaturgy team at the Münchner Kammerspiele since fall 2024.
