Falk Richter

Falk Richter was born in 1969 in Hamburg where he studied Theatrical Direction. For many years he was the In-House Director at Schaubühne Berlin as well as at the Maxim Gorki theatre and Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. His most significant works include the plays Electronic City, Unter Eis (Under the Ice), Trust and Fear, which have been performed all over the world. He has been invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen on a number of occasions and has received multiple nominations for the Mülheimer Dramatiker*innen Preis (Mülheim Dramatist Prize), most recently in 2020 for In My Room. For the world première of Elfriede Jelinek’s Am Königsweg performed at Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, he was named Director of the Year 2018. Falk is also a professor at the Danish National School for Performing Arts in Copenhagen. Since 2020, he has been part of the Artistic Directional Team at the Münchner Kammerspiele as an Author and a Director.
