Anna Konjetzky
Since 2005, Anna Konjetzky has been creating dance pieces and dance installations in which her choreographic thinking serves as a practice of reflection and transformation that is always embedded in a sociopolitical context. This choreographic thinking is also rooted in dialogue, in the ongoing research and practice of Anna Konjetzky & Co. with other artists and the urban community. The choreographer sees her work as an invitation to dialogue; her physical, aesthetic, and political research is shaped by a queer-feminist approach.
Konjetzky’s works have been presented nationally and internationally, including at the Spielart, Dance, Tanzwerkstatt Europa, unidram Potsdam, Co Festival Ljubljana, and Festival Danse Balsa Marni Bruxelles festivals, at the Grand Théâtre National Luxembourg, as well as in Kampala, Nairobi, Hanoi, Istanbul, Ghent, Nuremberg, Kraków, Warsaw, Brazil, Panama, and South Africa. She also creates pieces for established dance companies such as those at the State Theaters of Braunschweig and Saarbrücken and has realized her own productions in co-production with the Münchner Kammerspiele. Teaching engagements have taken her to the Académie des Beaux Arts in Brussels, AHK Amsterdam, the Cologne University of Music and Dance, the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, and the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
She has received numerous awards for her work, including two nominations for the German Theater Prize DER FAUST (“Running” in 2018, in the Children’s and Youth Theater category, and in 2022 for Sahra Huby as Best Dancer in the solo piece “Über die Wut”). Most recently, her youth play “sound on!” was invited to the 2026 Bavarian Theater Festival.
Since 2019, she has been working as Anna Konjetzky & Co. with a permanent team and founded PLAYGROUND, a space for artistic research and dialogue in Munich.
