Sahar Rahimi

Sahar Rahimi, born in Tehran in 1981, is a director and performance artist. Her work moves between theater, performance, installation and video. She studied at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Giessen from 2003 to 2008 and is a co-founder of the performance group Monster Truck. Monster Truck has realized national and international projects, staged and performed in the independent scene and at municipal theaters, including the Sophiensäle in Berlin, at Kampnagel in Hamburg, the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Bochumer Schauspielhaus and the NT Gent and has been a guest at numerous festivals such as the Impulse Festival, the Heidelberger Stückemarkt, the Radikal Jung Festival, the Israel Festival and the lagos_live Festival. 2019 the group received the Tabori Prize for their complete works. Rahimi has worked as a solo director at Theater Basel, Theater im Bahnhof Graz and Schauspielhaus Wien, among others. Together with Mark Schröppel, Sahar Rahimi will be responsible for the artistic direction of the Brechtfestival Augsburg from 2026.
