14:00 Hrs - 16:00 Hrs: „FIGHTING STATE VIOLENCE

This workshop, held by sociology professor Nandini Sundar (Delhi School of Economics), will look at the ways in which we can understand state violence ranging from ‘normal’ violence to our more authoritarian times. What are the different modes of resistance that people have employed and under what conditions have they succeeded? What ideas have inspired people to resist? While India will be one example discussed, participants are invited to come with their own understandings of state violence and resistance.

16:00 Hrs - 18:00 Hrs: „HOW TO ACT AS A HETEROGENOUS COLLECTIVE BODY

In this decolonial collective-building session we engage voice and body to break down barriers – either vocal, physical, emotional or cultural – thereby connecting and establishing a common experience and language in a welcoming and safe environment. The workshop, held by musician and black feminist activist LaToya Manly-Spain, includes songs and chants which are primarily dedicated to the practitioners of the Yoruba tradition. We honor our ancestors and pay homage not only to the living elders who are still with us here on earth, but also to those who have already passed paved the way for us – those who have been fore-runners against oppression, those who have displayed higher qualities that lead to balance restoration.
