BY CHELFITSCH, IN JAPANESE WITH GERMAN AND ENGLISH SURTITLES – two dates only
Director: Toshiki Okada
Four weeks prior to the premiere of his new staging of “Hot Pepper, Air Conditioner and the Farewell Speech” with the ensemble of the Kammerspiele, Toshiki Okada and his group chelfitsch will come to Munich for a two-day guest appearance. They will present a production that was developed with Japanese actors and was just launched this March at the festival “Kyoto Experiment”. As in his plays “Current Location” and “Ground and Floor”, the author and director deals in a haunting manner with fundamental problems and deficits within the Japanese society which have become visible through the melt-down in the reactor plant of Fukushima and which have been exacerbated ever since.
