From July 5 on, daily in the Charlottehof of the Münchner Kammerspiele
The Opera Booth
When the conductor Pierre Boulez demanded decades ago to “blow up the opera houses”, nobody had any clue about the Opera House of the Kammerspiele which was to be established for one season. As intended by Boulez, the Opera House of the Kammerspiele will be committed to the flames as planned after one year. For a single season, stage director and musician David Marton dedicated himself to the opera at the Kammerspiele. With members of the ensemble and guests, he not only staged the two productions “La Sonnambula” and “The Marriage of Figaro” but also breathed his personal spirit into smaller and larger projects of the opera genre. As a finale, associated artists and artistic groups will present their very own idea of the opera – in an opera booth in the courtyard of the Kammerspiele. In a run-away theater box, opera will be made for just three spectators at a time for one whole month. Secure yourself one of the few seats before the Opera House of the Kammerspiele evaporates into mythology.
