SUPER NIGHT SHOT

BY GOB SQUAD, only two shows – don't miss it!

Performance

Super Night Shot is a one-hour multi-screen video that is created just an hour before the performance begins. Four actors with four cameras spread out in the dark streets of the city to film. The immediate vicinity of the Munich Kammerspiele is turned into a film set, cigarette butts become props and every passer-by is a potential romantic lover, friend or liberator. Gob Squad declare war on the anonymity of cities. But they have only their video cameras, their charm and a single take per night to live out their dreams in film. “Super Night Shot” is a performance classic by Gob Squad, who made a name for themselves at the Kammerspiele with the stage piece “War and Peace”. This production has been shown in over forty different cities in Europe, America and Russia. The sentence “Do you believe in love at first sight?” has been said so far in English, French, Spanish and Russian. In ninety-five out of one hundred cases, the films ended with a final kiss as a happy ending.

A production by Gob Squad and the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxembourg-Platz Berlin. With generous support from the Arts Council of England East Midlands.
