Charity event for Moltivolti Palermo & Bellevue di Monaco
The Italian cantautore Pippo Pollina gives a revue of his work to date on the stage of the Münchner Kammerspiele, presenting a very personal selection of his songs. Besides his well known songs, he will also perform less-known songs from his extensive collection. The Moltivolti project is a restaurant, co-working space and intercultural meeting point in Pippo Pollina’s native town of Palermo, in the vibrant Ballarò market district. The focus is on integrating the work of refugees and migrants from countries such as Senegal, Zambia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Gambia and many more. In this respect, Moltivolti is a sibling project of the Bellevue di Monaco and the two have kept in close contact for some time.
“Where politics and religion no longer manage to provide a platform of ideas and values, we artists have to show possible paths,” writes Pippo Pollina in the booklet to his new CD. For the Sicilian in his adopted home of Zurich, this path is through poetry, music and strong emotions.
