BY BEGÜM ERCIYAS / IN ENGLISH, ENTRY EVERY 20 MIN., DURATION APPROXIMATELY 50 MINUTES
Choreographer Begüm Erciya’s performances are often about the power of the voice and the act of speaking. Expressing personal convictions and feelings in this way is very normal to us. But in the digital age we increasingly uncertain who is talking to us – a person or a machine? In “Pillow Talk”, the audience enters into a dialogue with a virtual conversation partner among a landscape of cushions. The artificial voice alternately assumes the roles of mediator, companion and mirror. With every word, the conversation changes track. Impressions and assessments are exchanged. A nap is taken in-between; time passes. “Pillow Talk” invites you to an intimate relationship with the non-human.
