PERFECT ROMANCE

BY THE AGENCY AND LEIF RANDT

Performance

“Besides providing a scintillating simulation of all that is beautiful, soft and dreamy, it is our Lovers’ concern to develop the scripts of contemporary romances in a progressive way.” (Leif RANDT) A project by the Munich and Berlin-based theatre group THE AGENCY and the writer Leif Randt explores the concept of romantic love. The dramatic film kiss underneath the flyer at the central station of a rainy European city has been etched onto our minds, as well as the performance of femininity and masculinity in Disney productions like “The Beauty and the Beast”. How much norm and capitalisation is represented by such images? In the immersive performance of “Perfect Romance”, a company offers its clients the simulation of romantic moments. Experts in romance creation work in the company’s club outlets – so-called “Lovers”. Customers are invited to take part in their stories and actions, and to re-enact personalised romances.
