By Gintersdorfer/Klaßen, Only two performances
The two choreographers Monika Gintersdorfer and Knut Klaßen put forward a brilliant Clash de luxe of pop cultures: No less than fifteen representatives of the dance, club and performance scene will be on stage. The evening is dedicated to the legendary gangster John Pololo from the Ivory Coast. As fashion icon for thugs he became a subversive, larger-than-life character in the 1980s and left a legacy of cool expressions and distinct dance styles that are enacted on the Ivorian streets still today. Now the Pololo movement, German punk and queer club cultures directly clash on stage. In fast-paced group choreographies and musical-dance solos, street dance from Abidjan, twerking, crumping and voguing merge into a happening that teems with energy.
