“When should you be radical, if not in your first film?” said Uisenma Borchu about her debut “Schau mich nicht so an”, for which the young Munich-based director won the Bavarian film prize in 2016. In her first theatre work she now focuses on her life story: “As a young girl, I arrived in East Berlin from Mongolia on the Trans-Siberian Railway. It was supposed to be the beginning of a new life – a Mongolian family welcome in the GDR. But only a short while later, we were an unwelcome Mongolian family in West Germany!” With three actors and her father, the director will bring her memories to life, with the persistent question: Is it possible to catch up with time, with the past? And to track down the enigma of ourselves?
