CONCERT: TINDERSTICKS

Regardless of the currently prevailing trends and booms in pop business the Tindersticks have cultivated a form of song writing which is more frequently composed in a minor key than in a major key, which is related more closely to the European art song and the French chanson than the Anglo-American folk idioms and which is more interested in the traditions of dandyhood and excursions to the recesses of the soul than in social and political issues. A few weeks ago the ensemble around the enigmatic singer and text writer Stuart A. Staples has released its tenth album titled “Waiting Room” just in time for the 25 th anniversary of the band. According to the unanimous opinion of professional reviewers the musicians present themselves at the height of their creativity.
