Amir Reza Koohestani / Mehr Theatre Group, in Farsi with German surtitles
Rumour has it that a man has stayed in a room at the Tehran female students’ residence on New Year’s Eve. There are no eye-witnesses to the scandalous incident. There is only an anonymous report to the head of the residence, which relies solely on what was heard. The incident results in investigations, narratives unfold that go far beyond the frame of events and that take shape as tales of an entire generation. After “Der Fall Meursault” by Kamel Daoud, Amir Reza Koohestani presents a guest performance of his acclaimed production “Anhörung”, showcasing once again his skills as a writer, his feeling for atmospheric density and a virtuoso, highly reflective use of video technology.
