Screening

Paris in spring, 1871. The young saleswoman Louise becomes increasingly entangled in the battles and events surrounding the revolutionary struggle of the Paris Commune. But when she falls for the pro-government soldier Jean, she is faced with a conflict of conscience. On the occasion of the large-scale performance of “1968” at the Kammerspiele in February (with further performances from March 12-14), which takes up another revolutionary fight for justice to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the student movement, we will be screening the silent film “New Babylon” on the stage of Kammer 1. The screening will be accompanied live by the Orchester Jakobsplatz München who will perform the film score composed by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Faisons la révolution d’abord, on verra ensuite.”
