By Stellan Rye and Paul Wegener, feat. music by Joseph Weiss / a series of silent film screenings in cooperation with the Orchester Jakobsplatz München
The over hundred-year-old silent film “The Student of Prague” is set in 19th-century Prague and centres on poor Baldwin, who sells his reflection to a charlatan. Like in Eugène Labiche’s comedy “Trüffel Trüffel Trüffel”, directed by Felix Rothenhäusler, which has been showing in Kammer 2 since October 2017, this movie shows how social participation is only possible through economic prosperity. For the second time, the Orchester Jakobsplatz München will play a live accompaniment to this silent film screening (partly in colour) on the main stage of the Kammerspiele.
