INTELLIGENZ, KÜNSTLICH UND KOMPLEX

BY DIRK BAECKER, MODERATION: TOBI MÜLLER / IN GERMAN, 5 EURO

Lecture

The question of whether artificial intelligence will ever surpass human intelligence is no longer central. Far more exciting are the two discoveries that, firstly, artificial intelligence is different from human intelligence; and secondly, that human intelligence falls into the categories of physical, mental and social. The next society will transform modern society. We are dealing with a culture of complexity instead of a culture of reason. What does this mean for humans?

Dirk Baecker teaches sociology at the University of Witten/Herdecke. His latest publication is “4.0 oder Die Lücke die der Rechner lässt” (4.0 or The Gap the Computer Leaves) (Leipzig: Merve, 2018).
