FEATURING JUTTA ALLMENDIGER AND GIOVANNI DI LORENZO, 7 PM DOORS AND STUDY, 8 PM DISCUSSION
Professor Jutta Allmendinger, President of the Berlin Social Science Center, is in tune with the times when it comes to the subjects of her research work. Her research is concerned with the growing gap between rich and poor, issues of education and ways of living among women and men. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung has described her someone who “has a passion for turning things around”. Most recently she made headlines with the study “Das Vermächtnis – Die Welt, die wir erleben wollen”. The data was collated and analysed by the infas Institute for Applied Social Sciences in Bonn and the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). What legacy do Germans want to pass on to future generations? So far 3,000 citizens have responded to the in-depth interviews, in which the key questions were: How are we faring in today’s world? What society do we want for future generations? And what do we expect in the world of tomorrow? At the initiative of the Goethe Institute e.V., Jutta Allmendinger talks about these issues with the chief editor of the ZEIT, Giovanni di Lorenzo. Before the interview, guests have the opportunity to participate in the study: Thematic areas on the “Wisdom of the Senses” and “Flight” await you in the entrance area.
