GEGEN DEN HASS, READING AND CONCERT, moderation: Armin Nassehi
In her new essay, Carolin Emcke, the 2016 peace prize-winner of the German Book Trade, examines how thought and language can be radicalised, and opposes hatred by praising plurality. As a reflection of this polyphony, excerpts read by Emcke from “Gegen den Hass” will be set by the cellist Anja Lechner to works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Valentin Silvestrov and her own improvisations.
In discussion with Carolin Emcke: Armin Nassehi (Institute of Sociology at LMU Munich)
In collaboration with the Evangelische Stadtakademie.
