Kammer 2

By Marlene Monteiro Freitas

Don't miss it

After the triumphant success of her last production “Of Ivory and Flesh”, the choreographer Marlene Monteiro Freitas, together with eight dancers and five trumpeters, has now taken on an ancient Greek tragedy: “The Bacchae” by Euripides. What emerges from the struggle between order and rationality on one hand, and irrationality and ecstasy on the other, is a series of exuberant images, inspired as much by the carnival in Cape Verde as they are by mythology, pop and highbrow culture.
