“Welcome to Caveland!” This is the slogan for the first contact with a new species of gigantic moles that live in their subterranean retreat, waiting for their audience. Blindly but persistently, the furry giants struggle with everyday life, like successors to Sisyphus, rolling their stones uphill, and thereby providing a glimpse at the history of mankind. Playful, greedy and sometimes fatally aggressive, they explore the more profound reasons for their existence and discover an appreciation for art and ritual. It does not take long before the moles make the entire underworld quake with the finest psychedelic rock. In the past season, French director Philippe Quesne made his debut at the Münchner Kammerspiele with “Caspar Western Frederick”, a repertory production, which was developed together with the ensemble. Now the master of magical and bizarre theatre sets returns to München and opens the gates to the underworld with the “Nacht der Maulwurf” (The Night of the Mole).
For children from 6 to 10 years.
On May 4 and 5 the version of the play for grown-ups will be shown “The Night of the Moles”.
