ABRAUM

BY WILKE WEERMAN (WINNER OF MUNICH SPONSORSHIP PRIZE FOR GERMAN-SPEAKING THEATRE 2016), FINAL YEAR PRODUCTION BY THE OTTO FALKENBERG SCHOOL OF ACTING

Director: Swen Lasse Awe

play

Five young people and an old man have set up an existence on the edge of an abandoned quarry. Out there, on the fringes of the city, only the excavated material (“Abraum”) is left – “the stuff that is no good to anyone.” As violence threatens to take over their bleak lives, doubts about the solidarity of the group become vocal. Their attempt to break free from their dependence on each other is doomed to failure.
